The Plotters’ Forest is open

Raby Castle, County Durham

The entrance to the Plotters Forest by CAP.Co at Raby Castle

The Plotters' Forest is open and has welcomed its first families to run, play and enjoy their time together in the brand new adventure play, within the Christmas tree Plantation in the beautiful grounds of Raby Castle.

Our team were on-site through some of the toughest weather they have ever faced and survived a cold, wet and very windy winter, building the play from the ground up. Over the last few weeks in the run-up to opening, thankfully it's had a chance to dry out and spring to life.

It's a slightly different build to others we have done in how tightly cut it is to the trees on site. This was very much part of the brief and you can see from some of the early photos here how they cut as narrow a path as possible to avoid disruption. Every part of the build is raised from the ground to avoid damage to the ground within the plantation, as it weaves its way from the entrance at the very bottom, through the winding path and hidden turrets, to the cafe at the top.

Despite the wintery challenges, the Plotters Forest opened on time and looks stunning. The first few weeks over the Easter Holidays have been a complete sell-out, with every session being full. Reviews are looking excellent too, so we are delighted.

We will share a complete portfolio at a later date, but in the meantime, here are some images around the site, just before the grand opening.
